It all started back in 1982. A new creature was born, one that would soon be giving the name of "Brian Grigg", after much deliberation upon the part of its immediate ancestors. The family was a happy one, and succeeded to the point where this boy started to become more, to become a mapper. His first brush with creating levels came with Warcraft II, and its packaged editor. Infatuated with strategy games, he played out Warcraft 2, Total Annihilation, and Civ 2 til his thumbs bled. Then he happened upon an amazing game, known only as Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri.

This game would open up new portals to our young adventurer. It possessed an unparalleled level of customability, down to the very last drop. Running parallel was a brand new internet connection, facilitating a location where custom maps and factions could be traded in an instant. Immersed in this world, Brian was infatuated with the incredible creative oppurtunities that awaited in customizable games.

It is around this time that he began searching for a college, and more than just a college, a college that he would attend classes at, and think of as his own. PSAT's went out, and mail flyers came in. Days were spent glaring over a stack of pamphlets as tall as himself, which, at over 6 feet, is no small feat. In the end there could be only one, however, and that one was Rensselaer Polytech, or RPI. Gone would be the days of high school cross country teams where he lettered, Troop 86 where he earned his Eagle, and the Shady Glen Dairy, where he ate sold their ice cream for some money.

At this college, around the first week or so, at a friend's suggestion he installed Half-life for the first time. What he found was the world of FPS's, with a whole new form of team game that he had never tried before. Starting with beta 7, he became an avid Counter-strike fan, always looking for something new. He discovered custom maps, and after downloading quite a few, decided he must try it out for himself. Initial trials with Worldcraft didn't go so well on his system though, so he set himself up with a third party editor QuArK, a powerful program that extends beyond the typical abilities of WC. Calling himself "Cash Car Star", after an incredible Smashing Pumpkins song, our valiant hero decided to take up the fight on the side of good. Determined to stop the horror of killboxes and excessive overuse of avanti and dust textures, he has never stopped to question why he must do the things he must do, but only to get them done. Following the release of a pair of HLDM maps, he was invited to join a band of fellow heroes, upon the After-Empire team. Nothing, not even a renegade func_door_rotating will stop him, especially when he is hungry.

Errr... you didn't actually just read that, did you?
